Samsung is gearing up to unveil a game-changing Tri-Fold smartphone — a device featuring two hinges instead of one, unlike its current foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold and Z Flip series.

While the company hasn’t officially revealed the device, it acknowledged its existence during its latest earnings call, confirming that the long-rumored “Galaxy TriFold” project is very real.

Expected Specifications

According to Mashable, leaks suggest the following features for Samsung’s first tri-folding phone:

  • Outer Display: 6.5-inch AMOLED

  • Inner Display: Expansive 10-inch foldable screen

  • Processor: Snapdragon 8 Elite (same chip as Galaxy flagships)

  • RAM: Up to 16 GB

  • Storage: Minimum 256 GB

  • Camera: 200 MP main lens with ultra-wide and telephoto sensors

Performance-wise, it’s expected to rival the Galaxy Z Fold 7, though the larger 10-inch interior display gives it a unique advantage — offering tablet-level multitasking in a smartphone form factor.

Design and Battery Innovations

The TriFold could fold down to the size of a slightly chunky phone, yet unfold into the largest screen ever on a mobile device. The main engineering challenge, however, is thickness.

Samsung has already achieved record thinness in the Z Fold 7 and Galaxy S25 Edge, so if it can replicate that design language, this could mark a true milestone in foldable tech.

A recent Korean patent filing hints at a three-cell battery setup—one in each panel—to balance weight and power consumption across its dual large displays.

Price and Availability

Reports suggest a price tag around $3,000, making it significantly more expensive than the $1,999 Galaxy Z Fold 7.

As for timing, the official reveal could come during the APEC Summit in South Korea (October 31–November 1), with global availability likely before the end of the year.

Rumors also indicate the phone will launch outside Asia, reaching markets like the U.S., China, and South Korea simultaneously.
