Huawei to Launch FreeClip 2 Earbuds and Compact Premium Tablet on September 4
Huawei is gearing up for a major tech event on September 4, where it is expected to unveil the second-generation FreeClip 2 earbuds alongside a new compact premium tablet—a move that underscores the company’s push to expand its smart device ecosystem.
According to leaks on the Chinese platform Weibo, the new FreeClip 2 (model T0027) will feature the brand’s signature C-bridge design for a more comfortable fit, while introducing fresh color options including feather white, black, and blue. Among the key upgrades: support for Nearlink technology, which promises faster data transfer than Bluetooth, enhanced audio performance, and improved noise cancellation.
The first-generation FreeClip launched in December 2023 at 1,299 yuan (around $180). This second-gen model is expected to deliver a significant leap in wireless efficiency and sound quality.
At the same event, Huawei is also preparing to debut a new 8.8-inch tablet, designed to be slim, lightweight, and highly portable without compromising performance—a direct challenger to Apple’s iPad Mini.
Leaks further reveal that Huawei will roll out the MatePad 11.5 (2025 edition), featuring a 120Hz LCD display with 2456×1600 resolution, a Kirin 8020 processor, and a massive 10,100mAh battery with 40W fast charging. Measuring just 6.1mm thick and weighing 515 grams, the tablet is targeted at students and everyday users, with an expected price of $400 and color options including space gray, blue, silver, and purple.
Huawei’s latest move positions the FreeClip 2 squarely against rivals like JBL’s Sense Pro, while its compact tablet takes aim at Apple—signaling a clear strategy to strengthen Huawei’s ecosystem of smart devices.
